Ride to Farm is a 65-mile bike ride to raise awareness and funds for the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers (WSBDF).
Retiring farmers are leaving farming at a much faster rate than new farmers are starting. The school meets the critical need to train, mentor and support Wisconsin’s next generation of dairy and livestock farmers. The program emphasizes low-capital, environmentally friendly, grass-based dairy farming.
This ride starts and ends at Lake Farm Park in Madison, with lunch at the Truttmann Dairy Farm near New Glarus. The course is hilly. There is an option of riding half of the course, if 65 miles is more than you wish to tackle. There is no entry fee for this ride, but riders are required to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges by June 18.
This is a small ride, limited to 50 riders. Register soon to ensure your spot! There is no registration the day of the event.
August 15 — Tour de Fort
Come join us on Sunday, August 15, 2010 to ride in the longest running
bicycle tour in Jefferson County. The annual Tour de Fort Bicycle tour,
sponsored by the Jefferson County Bicycle Club, offers multiple ride
distances, a free chicken dinner after the event, well marked routes on low
traveled roads, fantastic rest-stops and SAG support.
Tour de Fort raises money for bicycle advocacy initiatives (infrastructure,
education and promotion) throughout Jefferson County. Last year the club
contributed over $4,000 towards advocacy related initiatives.

August 21, 2010 – Pedal for the House
A one-day cycling event that starts and ends at Tollefson Park, Verona, WI. Four routes with something for everyone.
The family-friendly 10-mile route is a great for most ages and abilities. There is a hill or two that will definitely get your heart pumping! There is a Fun Loop that winds around the park and is ideal for walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, tricycles and anyone who wants the ultimate Fun Loop! New this year, we’ve added a 20-mile route. Please don’t let the shorter distance fool you…this route is quite hilly! The 40 and 60-mile routes are for the avid cyclists that REALLY enjoy a challenge and some pretty good climbs. While these routes are very beautiful they are also very challenging.
There is a delicious post-ride meal after the event that is for the all participants, riders and volunteers. Children’s entertainment at the park for smaller riders and those who are relaxing. Bounce house, face painter and an arts and crafts table! The 105-1 Charlie FM Party Patrol and The Charlie horse will be stopping by with great games and prizes!!
